Seattle City Light will be replacing the aging underground infrastructure for eight (8) existing historic three-globe streetlight poles, and adding three (3) new streetlight poles and four (4) tree pits, along 2nd Avenue Extension South between South Washington Street and South Main Street.
This project is a part of Seattle City Light’s effort to improve customer safety, reduce carbon emissions and conserve resources by converting globe streetlights in the downtown Seattle core from high-pressure sodium (HPS) lights to energy-efficient light-emitting diodes (LEDs).
